Hello everyone! Welcome to The Hyper Hook. My name is Sara. I love all things crochet. I currently live in Southwest Florida with my amazing fiancé and our two rambunctious kiddos, Piper and Hynes. For years my friends and family have told me to sell my crochet items. I always wanted to but was too scared. With the craziness that 2020 brought I knew it was time.
It was mid year of 2020 when I decided to give it a go. I would start my blog and share my makes and designs with the world. First step was to name my new venture. I wanted to tie the name to my family so I started mashing my kids’ names together. It was then that The Hyper Hook was born, and hyper accurately describes all of the energy in our home.
The Beginning
I started crocheting in high school. My friend came over and taught me the double crochet stitch and that was the only stitch that I knew how to do for years. Despite only knowing how to make double crocheted striped blankets, I loved it. Fast forward to the end of college and I experimented with more and more stitches and began making graphgans for family and friends.
Moving Forward
Crochet has always been the hobby I revert to. It has always made me happy, relaxed, and really my only area of creativity. Therefore, I wanted to dive deeper into the crochet community but in all honestly I was scared and didn’t know if I could add anything of value. Finally, with the craziness of 2020 I was let go of my 13 year job in manufacturing and I had a lot of time to think about the direction I really wanted my life to go. I no longer wanted to limit myself from trying because I was scared. Above all, crochet is something that I love so I figured I would jump in and enjoy the ride. I love making and learning, and I am slowly getting further into the world of design.
Home decor items are what I am drawn to. I love making cozy throws, home decor items, and kitchen goods. Throughout this journey I will be creating cozy items like pillows, throws, and holiday goodies that anyone will be able to make! All of my patterns will be easy enough for a beginner. I mean it’s always more gratifying knowing that you made something!
Follow along on my new journey of making, designing, and blogging so we can connect and grow together. Stop by and say hello on Facebook or Instagram. Visit my shop to get your patterns and home items!
